Adelaide garage door repair pricing varies by what’s broken, the brand of the door and motor, and where you are in the metro. Here are the honest 2026 ranges. They’re guides, not promises — your fixed-price quote depends on the on-site diagnosis.

Spring replacement (the most common repair)

RepairRange
Single torsion spring$220-$320
Pair of torsion springs$360-$480
Extension springs (older systems)$260-$420
Spring + cable replacement$480-$780

Spring replacement is the highest-volume repair we see.

Motor / opener repair

RepairRange
Capacitor replacement$160-$240
Drive gear replacement$220-$380
Logic board repair$260-$480
Full opener replacement (mid-spec)$480-$780
Full opener replacement (smart Wi-Fi)$620-$980

Repair vs replace decision: if your opener is under 8 years old and one component has failed, repair. If over 12 years old or multiple faults, replace.

Panel and cable replacement

RepairRange
Cable replacement (pair)$180-$340
Single panel replacement (sectional)$480-$1,200
Bottom slat replacement (roller)$180-$340
Hinge / roller replacement$120-$220

Panel matching depends on whether your door’s brand and model is still in production. Custom-finish panels carry longer lead times and sometimes a colour-match premium.

Off-track and emergency

RepairRange
Track realignment, no other damage$260-$420
Track realignment + cable$360-$540
Track + panel + cable$720-$1,400
Emergency call-out fee (waived if work proceeds)$90-$140
After-hours surcharge (where genuinely available)+$80-$160

Servicing

ServiceRange
Standard residential annual service$120-$220
Coastal-suburb premium service$160-$260
Commercial high-cycle service$220-$400
Service plan (annual + priority)$280-$420 / year

What drives the variability

  • Suburb and travel time. Inner-metro is at the lower end; Mount Barker, Aldinga, Gawler carry small travel premiums.
  • Door brand and age. Common brands (B&D, Centurion) are well-stocked; older or imported brands need parts ordering.
  • Time of call. After-hours and weekend genuine emergencies carry surcharges where a technician is genuinely on call.
  • Whether parts come stock-on-van or need ordering. Snapped springs and capacitor failures are van stock. Custom panels need ordering (1-3 weeks).

What ISN’T usually charged separately

  • The first 15-30 minutes of diagnostic time
  • Reasonable spring tension and limit-switch adjustment after the main repair
  • A standard new-remote pairing where parts aren’t supplied
  • A walk-through of safe operation

Compared to replacement

For most repairs in the $200–$400 band, repair is the right economics if your door’s under 12 years old. Above that age, the maths starts to favour replacement when:

  • Total repair quote is >40% of replacement cost
  • Multiple components have failed in 18 months
  • Parts availability is dropping
  • You’d upgrade to smart features anyway

A new sectional door with smart opener installed runs $2,400-$4,800 — so a repair quote north of $1,000 on a 15-year-old door warrants a “should we replace?” conversation.
